Petrol Ofisi Group, a leader in Türkiye's energy infrastructure, and Türk Telekom, the driving force behind Türkiye's digital transformation, have entered a new phase in their four-year strategic partnership for “Wide Area Network" (SD-WAN). Spanning Petrol Ofisi Group’s 2,700 fuel stations across 81 provinces, this project represents one of the largest SD-WAN technology implementations globally and marks a first in the industry.
As the longstanding leader in Türkiye’s fuel and chemicals markets, Petrol Ofisi Group has broken new ground in the sector through its collaboration with Türk Telekom, the pioneer of digital transformation. Expanding its partnership with Türk Telekom, the company aims to improve the security and continuity of sales, stock, and filling data management at fuel stations and village pumps nationwide. Through this collaboration, Türk Telekom will oversee infrastructure management for an additional five years, installing the "Wide Area Network" (SD-WAN) and Local Network Infrastructure, setting a benchmark for digital transformation in the fuel industry. Under the new agreement, the SD-WAN technology that Petrol Ofisi Group started to use four years ago in partnership with Türk Telekom as a first in the sector, will now also be deployed at recently integrated bp stations and service points.
Commenting on the agreement, Mehmet Abbasoğlu, CEO of Petrol Ofisi Group, stated: "We are delighted to realize this landmark project, a critical milestone in achieving our Group's digital transformation goals. Together with Türk Telekom—an advocate for digitalization as a culture and a key player in Türkiye’s digital transformation—we are strengthening communication automation infrastructure in the energy sector with innovative solutions, including UTTS. With the bp acquisition, we now operate a network of 2,700 stations nationwide, further cementing our role in ensuring the security and accessibility of Türkiye’s energy supply. We take pride in setting a new industry standard by supporting this nationwide network with a secure, uninterrupted, and highly accessible communication infrastructure."
Ümit Önal, CEO of Türk Telekom, added: "At Türk Telekom, we are proud to support businesses and institutions on their digital transformation journey. With our comprehensive vision for digitalization across all aspects of life, we continue to deliver transformative milestones in sectors ranging from defense and industry to energy, education, transportation, and more. This partnership with Petrol Ofisi boosts their operational efficiency, offering flexible, reliable, and centralized network management through our SD-WAN technology. We remain committed to empowering businesses with future-ready technologies and delivering end-to-end solutions through cutting-edge innovations.”
Centralized network architecture ensures nearly 100% accessibility SD-WAN (Wide Area Network), a network architecture technology that enables the centralized management of station and terminal infrastructure and provides flexibility, scalability and high visibility, will be deployed at Petrol Ofisi Group's nearly 2,700 fuel stations in 81 provinces across Turkey, including the recently acquired bp assets. This technology ensures real-time transmission of automation system data from stations to the Petrol Ofisi data center and the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) via Türk Telekom’s satellite, GSM, and terrestrial infrastructure. By enabling centralized management of Petrol Ofisi Group’s wide-area networks, the innovative SD-WAN technology delivers nearly 100% accessibility, along with exceptional flexibility and scalability.
